Hello!
First of all;
If it wasn’t for my amazing husband, I never would have heard about - and probably never started using substack. He is very popular on this platform and you may have heard about him. His substack is called “The Freedom Corner by PeterSweden”
So who am I? My name is Camilla Rose Imanuelsen! I spend my days with my husband (and also my very best friend!!!) Peter, and we often go into nature looking for the most breathtaking places we can find. Nature is one of my favourite places to be, seeing as it’s probably the closest place we can get to heaven here on earth. Gods’ beauty is very inspiring. I’m so lucky to be married to an adventurous man. Since we met, I’ve seen more beautiful places than I did my whole life.
My interests all revolve around learning and creating. I love plants, both in the garden (vegetables, flowers and trees), indoor plants, aquatic plants and aquariums, animals, cooking, baking, reading, sewing, singing… I also love fashion a lot - and I’m very much interested in these types of topics like hair, makeup, clothing and nails. I’m curious and love learning how to do new things. My substack will be dedicated to art, culture and anything I find beautiful and inspiring. I’m a follower of Jesus, and I love God so much!

I am a traditional artist, and I have been passionate about drawing since a young age. It all started with me holding pencils before I could speak, but as I grew older, I became more serious about improving my skills. At age 12, I decided that I wanted to create realistic drawings, so I dedicated myself to researching techniques and practicing every day. This decision was a turning point in my life.
The following year, I stumbled upon the world of oil painting, and it sparked a passion within me that I had never experienced before. Venturing into this new artistic realm opened my eyes to a whole new way of expressing myself. It was like unlocking a door to a world where my imagination could run free.
Later in life, I transitioned into teaching art in real life, and it has been a fulfilling journey. I have had the privilege of holding courses for both adults and children (and teaching children weekly), gaining valuable insights into the challenges and joys of art education.
I have learned that classical art skills are not as easily accessible in today’s world, with many schools and artists focusing on modern techniques. My own artistic skills have largely been developed through self-study, including online resources, books, and dedicated practice. Additionally, studying at the Nerdrum-school provided me with invaluable knowledge and techniques, particularly when it comes to painting with oils. This is one of the reasons I want to share more about traditional art online. It’s one of the reasons I made a substack.
Moving on to a new chapter in my life, I am learning how to paint with Gouache. I’ve only been doing it for a few weeks, and it’s been revolutionary for my inspiration! I have experience with both aquarelle and acrylic paint, but never quite liked it very much for making sketches. Gouache is like an in-between type of paint. The quick coverage of the paint makes it very satisfying to work with.
Here are some of the paintings I have made in my sketchbook so far.

This is a painting of a VERY cute hedgehog that lives in the neighbourhood.
You can have a look at my portfolio on my website www.camillaroseart.com - to see more of my work. The paintings you see in this post are just quick sketches basically.

Your art and love of nature and beauty reflect the creator. I live in Birmingham, Alabama in the USA. I want to expose my grandchildren to nature, art, cooking, and music to show off the creator and the true lover of their souls. May He continue to bless you and your husband as you share your many gifts to bless others.
Your work is lovely. I live in Texas and love nature as well. The diversity of God’s creation is awesome! My youngest son calls the sunlight filtering through the clouds and trees “Jesus light”. I still call it that 🥰
